The visual identity of the 37th Carthage Film Festival celebrates six decades of cinema through a striking dialogue between Tunisian heritage, collective memory and artistic innovation.
At its centre, the number 60 takes shape within a stylised face, its geometric lines interwoven with a strip of film. Drawing on Cubism and the Bauhaus movement, the portrait brings together multiple perspectives, reflecting the diversity of cinematic expression and the many voices that have shaped the festival.
Ancient Carthaginian and Roman columns anchor the design in Tunisia’s rich historical legacy, evoking a land shaped by centuries of cultural exchange. Against a dark, textured background, the interplay of shadow and light recalls the anticipation of a cinema screening. Mediterranean orange and red convey warmth and passion, while turquoise introduces a contemporary note of calm.
More than a celebration of an anniversary, the poster pays tribute to the founders of the JCC and to six decades of cinematic memory, cultural resistance and artistic discovery. It reaffirms the festival’s enduring commitment to African and Arab cinema, while embracing a world of perspectives, encounters and possibilities for the future.
