Egyptian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, H.E. Hatem Abdel Kader, attended the theatrical performance of “Ana Mesh Aarefni,” starring Amr Youssef, accompanied by his wife. The ambassador also hosted Amr Youssef and the entire cast for a dinner at the Egyptian Embassy in Riyadh.
Amr Youssef expressed his gratitude to the ambassador through his official Instagram account, writing: “Thank you, Your Excellency, H.E. Hatem Abdel Kader, the Egyptian Ambassador to Riyadh, for your generous hospitality. My heartfelt thanks for attending the performance of #AnaMeshAarefni with your esteemed wife. You truly honored us with your presence. My sincere regards to the entire embassy team for their warm welcome.”
Meanwhile, Amr Youssef concludes the run of his play “Ana Mesh Aarefni” today, following 10 nights of performances, all of which played to full houses. The production has achieved remarkable success as part of this year's Riyadh Season theatrical program.
The play marked the opening of Riyadh Season's theatrical activities, with performances beginning on Friday. Amr Youssef plays Omar, a pilot who finds himself seeking help from a psychiatrist to overcome a series of flaws that his girlfriend dislikes. The doctor uses an unconventional treatment method involving a device that transports Omar through different eras. In each era, audiences see him in different clothes and living a completely different life as he attempts to get rid of the traits his girlfriend dislikes.
The play was staged daily at the Mohammed Al Ali Theatre in Riyadh Boulevard as part of Riyadh Season. It stars Amr Youssef alongside Asmaa Galal, Bayoumi Fouad, Nesreen Amin, Ahmed Abdel Wahab, Aya Abdel Raziq, Salah El Dali, and Yomna Toulane. The play is written by Ahmed Abdel Wahab and Kimoz, and directed by Mohsen Rizk.
Amr Youssef is also set to appear in the upcoming Ramadan season with the 15-episode series “180,” directed by Ahmed Maged El Masry, in which he portrays a Civil Defense officer.
